What a sweet story about finding lost love and living life to the fullest.Like the first reviewer, I love a book that can make me laugh and cry, as well as give me something to think about. I love the book's setting, and Abby's closeness to her grandmother, even though her grandma has passed away. All of the Daves were great (except the paranoid one)and Abby's grandma's idea to have Abby think of one good thing to say about each of the Daves reminds me of something I try to do. Even if I don't like someone, I try to think of at least one nice thing to say about them (Ex: Well, X is really mean, but she'd do anything for her family).
I love Dave's motivational texts to keep Abby on track for finishing her book and how he didn't believe Abby at first, but realized that she really was being guided by her grandmother to help find her lost love.

This was a sweet read with a ghost. Abby has recently lost her Grandmother and when she turns up as a ghost she doesn't just want to haunt and hover. She has a mission for Abby, to find her lost love Dave who never came back from the war.
Abby is rather lonesome, a writer on deadline, so going on a ghost inspired roadtrip will have it's issues, quite aside from the obvious ones (yeah...she's talking to a dead person).
Co-incidentally, there are 12 Daves living in the area where Grandma Charlotte last heard of her Dave. So the plan is, a Dave a day, with enough spare time for Abby to work on her book.
I enjoyed this little foray into a light-hearted ghost story. This is a second haunted title I've read by the author who has a couple of titles in the "romagic comedy" genre as well.
The romance is not a big focus but we get two for the price of one with Charlotte's story and someone Abby meets along the way. A nice ending and satisfying.
I’ve been a HUGE fan of Juliet Madison ever since I read her brilliant ‘Fast Forward’ and have read all of her books she’s published so far. Knowing Juliet writes the warmest romance stories with a bit of magic too, I had high expectations for her latest novella ’12 Daves of Christmas’. I must say I totally love the title of this book and I started reading it immediately after downloading from NetGalley.
Abby Solomon is a romance writer, but lately seems she’s lost her writing mojo. She has a deadline for a book and is under great pressure. But once her late grandma Charlotte pays her a visit, thing will start getting crazy for Abby. Her grandma’s wish is to find Dave, the man she loved before getting married during WW II. She hasn’t heard anything about him since the day he left, but he promised her he’d be back and will love her forever. Of course, Abby can’t turn down her late beloved grandma Charlotte (though she’s reconsidering her senses for seeing and talking to a ghost). Despite her busy schedule and the new book deadline, she takes of on this venture searching for Dave, however as you’d assume thing won’t be easy.
She’ll encounter so many Daves, rather interesting ones, learning some valuable lessons along from each one of them. But will she find THE ONE?
Oh this was such a delightful read. Some of these Daves were just hilarious. What I love the most about Juliet’s books is the fact she includes just the right dose of humor and magic into her books, making you believe anything is possible. I wasn’t a huge fan of Abby, but must say I was completely mesmerized by grandma Charlotte, who reminded me so much of my grandma. Her and Dave’s love story even brought tears to my eyes, and with each new Dave introduced I was anxious to see if he’ll be the right.
However, despite being really cute, fun and heartwarming, some chapters felt too short while others too long. Honestly, I didn’t like that, but if this was a regular length novel I’m sure Juliet would work on it. It felt weird, she payed too much attention to certain Daves, and then too little to others. But still, it’s a great, enjoyable read perfect to read this time of year. It’s not too festive, however it speaks about the importance of family and love and takes place around Christmas, which is enough Christmassy to me.
This is certainly a delightful read you won’t be able to put down.

One day, old letters from her grandma sparked a curiosity over “Dave.” Suddenly, Grandma’s ghost appears and urges her to find Dave, her first love. But why? The woman’s dead now.
And so begins a LONG and arduous search across country, searching through 12 Daves, trying to find THE Dave that got away 70 + years ago. OMG! Why, for the love of god? Why’s a dead broad seeking a live, old man? It’s not like they could be together now. Obviously, I had a hard time grasping this concept.
This story was so very, very SLOW. But I guess this journey gave Abby ideas for her upcoming book and taught her the true meaning of Christmas—that you need love and stuff. Not as witty as I thought it would be—just a long, long search.
